COVID-19 PREVENTION AND HEALTH POLICY

In these uncertain times, everything can feel overwhelming. News is evolving fast about coronavirus (COVID‑19) and many of us are in need of certainty and stability. It can be hard not knowing what the next hour will bring, for us or our loved ones.

Like most companies, everyone’s current priorities are to protect our employees, customers and their businesses, hopefully, enabling them to ride out this storm.

We have enacted significant measures to provide a safe environment for our staff and clientele during COVID-19, and we are strictly following guidelines put in place by Public Health Ontario and other government agencies.  

  • Hot Shot Chocolate continues to operate but with reduced response levels

  • Operations and customer support are continuing to be co-ordinated through the normal channels

  • Email correspondence and our ticket system is our preferred communication channel unless your need is an emergency

  • Double measures in cleanliness and sanitation of product production space as well as event spaces.
  • Curbside pickup is now available for local Toronto orders. Delivery and shipping options are also available.
  • Although we are open, we are not a retail storefront business open to public so we do not have outside visitors.

  • Social distancing is mandatory within our facilities

  • All staff are instructed there is to be zero physical contact in the workplace

  • The use of other peoples work phones, keyboards and equipment is forbidden

Enhanced Hygiene measures include:

We are taking extra precautions to keep our staff safe while we continue to produce our chocolates at our facility in Toronto. These measures include re-doubling our already rigorous cleaning procedures using hospital-grade disinfectant and sanitizer and ensuring that frequently-touched surfaces and items are regularly and thoroughly disinfected. 


We have ensured that hand sanitizer is freely available to our staff and customers to use and have multiple handwashing stations accessible. We highly encourage frequent & consistent hand washing as well if anyone is feeling unwell to stay home and isolate for symptoms/speak with your physician to ensure the safety of others and prevention of spread of virus.


All door handles, light switches and common areas are washed down with sanitiser/disinfectant 3 times a day as a minimum.


Event Bookings adjusted:

In order to follow public health guidelines, we are currently only offering our in-person workshops as private event bookings for small intimate groups, a maximum 9 persons (+ your Chocolatier = the maximum 10 persons allowed for indoor private gatherings, as per the limit announced in effect as of October 10, 2020.) All persons who participate in the booked private event must ensure they are from within the same social bubble, with appropriate venue spacing and are practising hand washing regularly. 

In the event that our Chocolatier is not feeling well or showing flu like symptoms leading up to and the day of the event, we will notify our customers and stay home from the events booked issuing a refund. We ask that guests planning to attend the chocolate event stay home if they too are not feeling well or showing flu like symptoms.

The health and safety of our customers and staff is of the utmost importance to us, so these workshops will be strictly in accordance with all Public Health Ontario recommendations. 


Delivery and Shipping Policy updated


We have adjusted our shipping and delivery policies in accordance with public health guidelines. We offer curbside pickup in Toronto, local delivery & shipping within Ontario. Please see our shipping and delivery FAQs for more information. 


Cancellation Policy Adjusted


As we’re currently not offering in-person public workshops, clients may keep their credit on file until we are ready to re-book classes or use their credits to purchase our products. Please feel free to contact us to re-book.


Refunds


Refunds are not available for purchases or for any event ticket purchases, however we will happily provide credit towards an alternate workshop date, or store credit to purchase chocolate products online.

Refunds will be issued for private party deposits in the event of cancellation due to covid-19.

External Deliveries or maintenance operatives

  • Deliveries will be made but signatures of goods received will not be needed, instead a photo or other form of confirmation will be made.

  • When conducting any maintenance our engineers will wear protective gloves and mask if available
